Midwestern State University recognized 1,040 honor students for the Fall 2023 semester. The President’s Honor Roll included 400 students, the Provost’s Honor Roll included 297 students and the Dean’s Honor Roll included 343 students.
Oklahoma Human Services began accepting online applications Dec. 19 for the Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP). This federally funded program helps income-eligible families with their winter heating utility bills. Applications are accepted online at OKDHSLive.org.

Louis and Auguste Lumiere are French brothers who invented a camera-projector they called the Cinematographe. In 1890, Thomas Edison and his assistant William Dickson developed the first motionpicture camera, called the Kinetograph, a machine with a peephole viewer that allowed one person to watch a strip of film as it moved past a light.
