Boeing tour provides SWOSU students with career pathway insights

A group of sixteen students and five staff/faculty members from Southwestern Oklahoma State University (SWOSU) recently participated in a tour of Boeing facilities in Oklahoma City. The tour provided an invaluable opportunity for students to gain insights into career pathways within the aerospace and defense industry. The group, comprising junior and senior-level students from SWOSU Engineering Physics, Engineering Technology, and Computer Science, participated in an educational tour to explore potential opportunities post-graduation. The student attendees were Drake Pena, Chris Ray, Ralph Sartin, Chris Svebek, Cody Conrady, Andres Arrieta, Mason Hart, Ben Smith, Akinwale Akintemi, Blake Grammer, Kyser Smith, Mitchel Worley, Reed Shields, Ryan Cunningham, and Tate Crouch. The faculty and staff attendees were Dr. Brian Rickel, Dr. Wayne Trail, Brett Chase, Dr. Chad Kinder, and Kimberly Rex.

New Technology for the treatment of Pediatric Epilepsy now available at Oklahoma Children’s Hospital OU Health

Children with neurological conditions such as epilepsy and movement disorders that don’t respond to medication have new options at Oklahoma Children’s Hospital OU Health through surgical treatments and new technology to reduce or eliminate seizures in children.

Altus Municipal Authority receives $20,400,000 water system funding from OWRB

The Altus Municipal Authority (Authority) received approval for $20,400,000 in funding Tuesday from the Oklahoma Water Resources Board (OWRB) to improve the Authority’s water infrastructure. Construction of upgrades and improvements to the water system will be financed by the Oklahoma Drinking Water State Revolving Fund (DWSRF) where $1,000,000 of the loan will be in the form of loan forgiveness.

Altus vocalist travels to Frederick for third annual “Imposter Show”

The Frederick Arts and Humanities Council hosted their third annual Imposter Show at the historic Ramona Theatre, March 9, 2024. The lineup included Adele, Johnny and June, Peggy Lee, Jeanie C. Riley, and even a frog named Jason Funderburker. It was certainly a night full of eclectic choices in music.
