She was born Sept. 30, 1918, in Lula, Okla., to Charlie and Pearl (Cogglin) Flowers. She married Roy Henderson in Antlers, Sept. 8, 1936. He preceded her in death in 1991. Gladys made the Antlers area her home until moving to Altus to be close to her daughter.
Gladys was a faithful member of the Freewill Baptist Church in Antlers. She loved to quilt and has shared these treasures with many of her family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Roy and Pearl Flowers; her beloved husband Roy Henderson; one brother, Ernest Flowers; three sisters, Retha Flowers, Lola Arnold and Opal Thomas; and by a son-in-law, Sidney Farquhar.
Gladys is lovingly survived by her daughter, Peggy Farquhar Gambill and husband Gordan; grandchildren, Bruce and ReGina Farquhar of Altus, Kelli and Chad Johnson of Humphries, Dustiin Farquhar and fiancee Erica of Blair; great-grandchildren Jacob Farquhar of Altus, Nathan Helm of Ada, and Arron Johnson of Humphries; one sister, Dorothy Hurd of Colgate; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., Wednesday at the Mills and Coffey Funeral Chapel of Antlers with the Rev. George Fergueson officiating. Burial will follow in the Antlers City Cemetery. The family will receive guests from 6:30 to 8 p.m.,today at the MIlls and Coffey Funeral Home. Lowell-Tims Funeral Home in Altus is in charge of local arrangements.
