The Oklahoma Outback Art Festival starts Friday in nearby Granite. Once you get there, just follow the colorful guitar signs to the beautiful Girl Scout Camp Kate Portwood.

While enjoying the scenery, and visiting with the Artists and Craftsman, there will be quite a variety of music for your listening pleasure all day (both days) and food to tickle your taste buds.

Everything starts on Friday, July 30, at 12 noon and will last until 5 p.m. On Saturday, events kick off at 8 a.m., with a Chuck Wagon Breakfast. Tickets can be purchased at the Chuck Wagon or in advance at Willis Granite Products.

There will be lots of games for the youngsters, a 13’ tall inflatable Water Slide, and a Water Wars area complete with water balloons. At the Kid’s Art House kids of all ages can express themselves with sand painting and help create a mural for this years Festival. There will be a granite playscape for them to create their own little cities, mountains or whatever their hearts desire.

While the younger kids are playing, everyone else can sit in the shade and listen to the wonderful entertainment on stage. The Outback has quite a line up with Chuck Milner and Family, Ezra Hendrickson, The Rick Babek Band, Texas Stardust (they are from the Texas Outback) Cara McKay, Kendall Silman, Will Sanders, Joel and Justin Hysmith & Family, Tim Montgomery and Joe Don Murray, Glen Burkhalter, and the Allen Family Singers. Music will include Irish Fiddle Music, Gospel, Country, accordions, and Rock & Roll.

Don’t let the heat get you down; go down under to the Oklahoma Outback Art Festival in Granite. For booth information call 580-535-2184.
