Competitors representing six states gathered in Altus, Friday and Saturday as Altus hosted the Regional Firefighter Combat Challenge. All of the participants, including event founder Dr. Davis, stated that this was the best venue this year (Including San Francico, San Diego, and Washington D.C.). Altus team member Jimmy Rogers, shown above, right, during the competition, said the crowd was the reason, “There was electricity in the air,” he said. James Thompson of Vernon Dr Pepper hosted the hospitality tent and was very pleased with the turn-out. Rogers said that he committed to bring back the challenge to Altus next year. “So we will start planning as soon as the dust settles,” Rogers said. At left is Kenny Ward of the Altus team competing.
