According to reports, the homeowner had left the house for a while when there was a knock at the door.
“There were two Hispanic males in their 20s that told the man they were friends of the homeowner,” said Police Chief Mike Patterson.
“When he opened the door, the suspects forced their way in and started beating the victim repeatedly, mostly to the face,” Patterson said. “They not only took the man’s money, but his shoes.”
Patterson explained that the thiefs could have thought it would slow the man down if he tried to follow or chase them when they left the scene.
Patterson said the suspects could be charged with first degree burglary, robbery by fear and aggravated assault and battery.
If you have any information on this case, you can call 482-TIPS. If your information leads to the arrest and conviction of the suspects, you will receive a reward.
Patterson said that no weapons were involved.
