New physician signs on to work at JCMH

The Board of Trustees, JCMH Authority, met in regular session, Monday. Minutes from the March 24 meeting were approved as presented.

Mrs. Ford reported that the outreach clinics had a good month with a total of 141 admissions and 34 outpatient surgeries contributed to JCMH for the month of March. Mr. Wilson reported on physician recruitment. Dr. Patrick Felicitas, Family Practice physician, has signed a contract to begin in July 2009. Continuing conversations with an Emergency Medicine physician and a CRNA.

Mr. Wilson introduced Dr. Abuelshar and Dr. Mihanni, JCMH hospitalists, to the board. Dr. Abuelshar told the board the goals of the program are to increase patient care and to increase the number of hospital admissions. The program has been in place for four weeks with an average of 10 admits/week.

Mr. Wilson gave an update on the cancer center project. A final inspection of the vault is scheduled for Tuesday, April 29. Upon final inspection, the linear accelerator will be delivered. The installation is a 12-week process. The cancer center is projected to open between July 15
