Pansy (Lue) Lenard, 61, of Altus, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, June 3, 2010, at Jackson County Memorial Hospital in Altus.
Lue was born in Purcell on October 4, 1948, to Roy Richmond Sr. and the late Cassie Mae Harris. She was raised in Altus by her mother and stepfather, the late Vernon Harris. She attended Lincoln School. Lue was a member of the Baptist Faith and visited Macedonia Baptist Church.
Lue united with her husband, John Lenard, in 1969. She was an excellent homemaker and housewife. Her family was her pride and joy. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, whom she loved very much. She also enjoyed fishing, gardening, traveling, and socials with her family and friends. She was best known for her cooking. She never allowed anyone to go hungry.
Lue went home to join our Heavenly Father; her mother, Cassie Mae Harris; her stepfather, Vernon Harris; her daughter, Barbara Johnson; two brothers, Clyde Morgan and Roy Richmond Jr.; one sister, Tracie Plair; and a nephew, Donal Washington.
In Gods care, she leaves behind her husband, John Lenard of Altus; two sons and two daughters, Billy Johnson of Vernon, Texas, Cornelius Lenard, Lakeisha Patterson, Dometric Lenard; and a very special person she loved as her own, LaDeanya French, all of Altus.
Also surviving her are five loving sisters, Cassie Graham and husband Carl Graham of North Carolina, May Vivian Felder and husband Arthur Felder of Birmingham, Alabama, Virginia Washington, Daisy Fleming, and Winona Owens, all of Altus; four loving brothers, Vernon Harris Jr., Dan Harris, and Bennie Harris, all of Wichita, Kansas, and A.H. Harris of Altus; 11 grandchildren, along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and many loved ones and friends.
Lues outgoing personality and wonderful sense of humor made her a friend to everyone. She had a strong and loving heart, which was the last to go. Lue, you will truly be missed.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Lowell-Tims Chapel. Interment will follow at the Altus City Cemetery under the direction of Lowell-Tims Funeral Home.
