The Altus City Council will hold a special meeting at 5:30 p.m. today, followed by the regular meetings, in the Council Chambers at City Hall.

The special meeting is for the presentation of the proposed 2010-2011 fiscal year budget by the City Administrator, followed by comments from the public, then directing staff regarding any proposed changes to the proposed budget.

The Council will then meet for its regular Municipal Trust Authority and Council meeting. The Trust agenda includes an update pm the Oklahoma Comfort Program involving federal stimulus dollars from Drake Ric of the Oklahoma Municipal Power Authority (OMPA).

The Trust will consider purchase of replacement parts for a pump station at the City Water Treatment Plant.

They will also discuss and vote to recommend which suggested new design best represents Altus Power and vote to authorize staff to update the logo for all Altus Power vehicles at a one-time new design fee of $150.

The agenda for the City Council meeting immediately following the Trust Authority session includes an update from District Attorney John Wampler of the work of the DA’s Drug Task Force and requested approval of a memorandum of agreement with the City for its continued support of the Multi-Jurisdictional Drug Task Force for FY 2010-11.

An executive session to consider a pending tort claim and for updates on labor contract negotiations between the City and the police and firemen’s unions is also on the agenda.
