Shortgrass Arts and Humanities Council President, Annelle Barton, and “Giddy-Up Gala” Committee members Brenda Risner, Sweat Pea Abernathy, Molly Reid, Iva Nell Templer and Kathy Hale are distributing tickets for the pre-rodeo BBQ dinner and country music concert to be held Aug. 21 at 5:15 p.m. at the Jackson County Expo Center. Jimmy Henley and The Touch of Grass will provide bluegrass and country music entertainment for the whole family. This concert is funded in part by the Oklahoma Arts Council. The doors open at 5:15 p.m. for Tommy Joe’s famous BBQ, the music begins at 5:45 p.m., and the concert will end at 7:15 p.m. in time to attend the GPS Rodeo that night. Advance tickets are $8 for adults and $4 for children and are available at the Chamber of Commerce, all area financial institutions, and from SAHC Board members.
