Altus Police responded to a vehicle/pedestrian accident Saturday evening at approximately 8:43 p.m.
The investigation showed that a 2007 Hyundai, driven by Juvvala Uday, 23, was stopped at a traffic light, north bound, at the intersection of Main and Cypress. Luis Santoyo, 56, was riding a bicycle east bound at that same intersection.
Santoyo proceeded across the intersection and struck the Uday vehicle after the light turned green for north bound traffic. Santoyo suffered minor injuries and was transported to Jackson County Memorial Hospital by EMS. Uday and another passenger in the vehicle were not injured.
Santoyo was cited for failure to yield and public intoxication.
