Navajo Indian Baseball Team finished 2nd Place in the Donnie Elliott Classic this past Saturday at Granite.

Navajo beat Mt. View in the first round 12-2 and Lakey McMahon got the win on the mound for the Indians. In the semifinals Navajo beat a good Blair team 10-1 and Braden Box pitched an excellent game on the mound for the Indians.

Navajo lost to 7th ranked Olustee in the finals 4-1. Navajo lead 1-0 headed into bottom of 5th inning when Olustee got several key hits and scored all of their 4 runs in the bottom of the of that inning.

Dakota McGrory took the tough loss on the mound but kept Olustee hitters off balance all night by changing speeds and hitting spots.

Navajo is currently ranked 14th in Class A and are 3-1 on the young season.

Navajo next in action on Tuesday at Navajo vs. Tipton at 4 pm.
