Kenneth L. Jones, 84, died on Feb. 28, 2013 at 9:20 p.m. at the University Hospital in Columbia, Mo., after having a heart attack on Feb. 27.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John McFarland Jones and Mary (Portwood) Jones; one daughter, Pamela (Lee) Jones and also his second wife Lola Jones.
Kenneth is survived by his present wife, Dorothy. Kenneth has five surviving children, Johnnie Joe Jones, Ronnie L. Jones, Donnie L. Jones, Bethenia Dawn and Kenneth Mackfarlan Jones. Kenneth also has 10 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.
Kenneth served with the 45th Thunderbirds Army Unit of Oklahoma during the Korean War from 1950 to 1957. He later served with the National Guard-Army of Altus. Kenneth was born in Altus on Nov. 2, 1928. He grew up around Altus, the son of John McFarland Jones and Mary (Portwood) Jones. Kenneth enjoyed baseball, basketball, and bowling growing up. In Kens later years he really enjoyed visiting and keeping up with his family by phone calls or taking trips to visit them.
His funeral service was held on March 8 at Ford Funeral Service in Midwest City. Kenneth will be buried at Fort Sill on Monday at 2 p.m. with Military Honors.
