Altus High School will host the second annual “Pound the Pavement” Bulldog 5K Walk/Run at the Altus City Reservoir at 10 a.m. on April 6. This year, the event will be open to the public, as well as to Altus Public Schools staff and students age 12 and up.

Last year, the event attracted 180 registrants, and the Altus Public Schools Wellness Council hopes to encourage even more participants this year. The event will feature chip timing, and awards will be given in five-year age and gender groups, as well as in the overall, student, and staff categories.

Entry fees are $15 for adults and non-Altus students, and $10 for Altus students, and all participants who register by March 27 will be guaranteed an event T-shirt. For more information or to enter, contact Christy Duffy at Altus High School, 481-2644, or see the entry form at www.altuspublicschools.org.
