Jackson County Commissioners held a regular meeting Monday morning, Jan. 28, in the Commissioners’ Office in the County Courthouse, and accepted bids from Ergon Asphalt & Emulsion, and Sorco Products for asphalt based road oil projects. Ergon Asphalt Emulsion was accepted for their emulsion based oils, and Sorco Products for their MC oil products. The county received three bids total, including one from Vance Brothers, and approved the lowest and best bids.

After the meeting was called to order by Chairman Anthony Fixico, per agenda, Commissioners approved minutes from the previous meeting and had no reports presented by County Clerk Robin Booker to approve.

County Treasurer Renee Howard provided a letter of supplemental payments by the State of Okalahoma Tax Commission for taxes collected in error during the month of December. The county was credited $2615.03 for county sales tax, and $514.10 for county use tax.

Other items approved by Commissioners include a long term lease agreement between the County Board of Commissioners and Southwest Oklahoma Community Action Group, Inc., for a one year term from Jan. 1, to Dec. 31, and the reappointment of T.J. Beach to serve on the Elmer Rural Volunteer Fire Department.

Commissioners then approved claims, had no new business to discuss, and called the meeting adjourned.
