It took a little longer to get rid of the pesky Duncan Lady Demons but Coach Stacie Terbush’s Lady Dawgs put Duncan away with a big second half to take a 39-17 victory.

It looked like the game was going to get out of hand early as Altus built a 7-1 lead in the first quarter but Duncan pulled back to within three points halfway through the second quarter.

Altus was able to close out the quarter and outscored Duncan 9-8 to build a 16-9 halftime lead. Duncan scored the first six points of the third quarter to pull to with a point but then the Lady Dawgs rolled off 12 points to finish the quarter in a flurry to build a 28-15 lead going into the final frame.

Altus outscored Duncan 11-2 in that final frame to take the victory. Kiandra Knight led Altus with 12 points while Ai’shanta McGill added nine points. The victory kept the 8th grade girls winning streak going.

Altus (11-1) has won 11 games in a row since dropping their first game of the season. Altus will travel to Lawton Tomlinson on Thursday.
