Altus police continue to investigate an attempted robbery of an ATM machine that happened early Tuesday morning. According to reports, police discovered the front doors of Walgreen’s, 1132 N. Main, had been broken out, and a chain was wrapped around the ATM machine, located just inside the business.

Video from the store surveillance cameras show two male suspects, possibly one white male and one black male. One of the suspects opens the front door with some type of pry bar. The other suspect enters the the store and places a chain around the ATM machine. The suspects attempted to pull the ATM machine outside using a dark colored SUV, when the chain broke. The suspects were seen driving east bound from the area.

Police Chief Tim Murphy said this morning that they are continuing the investigation on the robbery, but asks that anyone with information about this crime should contact Crime Stoppers at 482-TIPS (482-8477). If your information, which can be left anonymously, leads to an arrest and conviction, you could be eligible for a cash reward.
