Every year St. John Baptist Church reaches out to the Altus Community offering toys to children. Their Christmas cheer this year will be through the “Smile of a Child” event on Saturday, Dec. 22 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., when they will offer toys to kids ages 1 through 12.
Their goal is to warm the hearts with hot chocolate and cookies and to bring a sparkle to the eyes of a child by offering them a toy. If you are aware of a family with children that would benefit from this service, St. John Baptist Church would be honored to serve them.
Parents must accompany their children to the church and remain there while the child selects their toy. Toys will only be given to children that are present to receive them.
They will remain at the church and give away toys until all are depleted, or until they close the giveaway at 2 p.m.
