Roy Lee Hall died on Nov. 19, 2012 at his home in Baytown, Texas.

Roy was born on Dec. 22, 1929 in Olustee, the 5th son of H.L. and I. Eula. Roy grew up in Olustee and graduated from Altus High School in 1947. After graduation, he worked for Halliburton in Duncan before joining the Oklahoma National Guard 45th Division when it was mobilized for the Korean War.

On Dec. 24, 1950 he married Nina Allen in the First Baptist Church of Altus.

He served in Japan and Korea. After being discharged from the Army in 1952, he attended Oklahoma A&M Tech at Okmulgee and completed the auto mechanics courses there. After graduation, he was employed by Woodard Motor Company in Greenville, Texas before moving to Baytown, Texas in 1955 to work for Tom Conder Oldsmobile. He worked briefly for Paul Prince Buick and then for Baytown Motors. In 1964, he opened his own auto repair business, Roy Hall Garage, in Baytown on North Commerce Street. He and Nina retired in 1994 after operating the business for 31 years.

He and Nina were very active in square dancing for almost 30 years, traveling to many states to participate in this activity. They also enjoyed cruising in Europe.

In addition to his parents, Roy was preceded in death by his brother, Clyde Hall of Salinas Calif.; and by his sisters, Beuna Ivis Hall, who died in infancy, Lena Mae Drum of Pasa Robles Calif., Betty Lou Grider of Edmond, and Vauda Van Golson of Muskogee.

He is survived by his wife Nina; his children, Laura Beth Hall and Phil Holloway of Hideaway, Frank and Margaret Reiter Hall of Conroe, Fred and Kim Williams Hall of Baytown and Julia Gale Hall of Hardin; his brothers, Raymond Hall of Altus, Clark Hall of La Marque, and Kenneth Hall of Midland; his sisters, Ellen Hankins of Altus, and Helen Hall of Seabrook; grandchildren Christopher Andrew and Valerie Locke Hall, Lucas Allen Hall and Keith Alexander Hall; his great-grand children, Jacqueline Racquel Bily, Codimarie Bily, Colton Jacob Bily, Kylie Monet Ortiz, and Jackson Andrew Hall; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A graveside service with Army Honor Guard will be held at Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Houston, on Friday, Nov. 30, at 9:30 a.m.

Pallbearers include Frank Hall, Christopher Hall, Lucas Hall, Keith Hall, Julia Hall, Phil Holloway, Ragan Bounds, Miles Adkins, and Don Montgomery.
