Lillian “Lillybug” Rodriquez, an Altus kindergartner, has been declared the winner in the City of Altus Light the Lights Coloring Contest. Lillybug is the daughter of Jeremy and Lindsey Rodriquez, of Altus. Lillybug will flip the switch for the lights at the beginning of the annual Christmas in the Park at approximately 6 p.m. Monday, Nov. 19 at the Gazebo in the City Park. There will be Christmas music and Santa will arrive by fire truck. Please come join in the fun of this special community celebration.

Lillybug and each student who submitted a coloring sheet for the contest are invited to ride, with a parent or guardian, on the Christmas train in the Christmas Parade on Sunday, Dec. 2.

Santa will be at the City Park every night Nov. 19 through Christmas Eve. The Christmas train and the concession stand will be open each night Nov. 19 through Nov. 25. Then the train and concession stand will be open Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights through Christmas. The lights will be turned off on Christmas Day. Special thanks to all who make this annual Christmas tradition possible.
