The Jackson County Commissioners held their regular meeting on Tuesday, Nov. 13, at 10 a.m. Commissioner Anthony Fixico was absent because he was attending a SWODA meeting.

They approved minutes from last meetings, Nov. 5 and Nov. 8, the latter when there was no quorum.

They approved a report from the Court Clerk’s Office.

In Officers’ reports, County Treasurer Renee Howard reported the County Sales Tax collections for September, received in November, were down from last month, to $116,609.45. The County Use Tax was up to $5,695.35, the highest since December 2011. Cigarette Tax was up slightly, to $1,635.30.

Commissioner Marty Clinton announced that District 1 crews will be starting Wednesday or Thursday for crack sealing on the roads. Workers will have signs and be wearing safety clothing, but Clinton asked that people please be aware and drive safely. Work will primarily be done on: Veterans (206) going north of Tamarack; from Hwy. 283 to Martha (158) and by the landfill north of Hwy. 62.

Two blanket purchase orders from District 1 for gravel were approved.

The Commissioners Proceedings for the month of October 2012 were approved.

An item regarding the Regular Meeting Dates for 2013 was tabled until the next meeting.

There was no new business and the claims were approved.
