James was born Oct. 1, 1941, to Edgar A. Morgan and Dora E. Groves, in Wellington, Texas. The family later moved to Altus. James attended Friendship School. He was a mechanic in the Altus area.
James is survived by his wife of the home, Raylene; her children and grandchildren; sons, James Morgan of Grandbury, Texas, and Jerry Morgan of Altus; seven grandchildren, and one great-grandchild.
