The Jackson County Commissioners met for their regular meeting at 10 a.m. on Monday, Oct. 15.

They approved the minutes from last meeting on Tuesday, Oct. 9. There were no reports to approve.

In Officers’ reports, County Treasurer Renee Howard reported the results of the Sales Tax, Cigarette Tax and Use Tax for the month of August. These revenues are deposited and credited to October. The County Sales Tax revenues ($122,272.83) were up seven percent from last month and 30 percent higher than they were last year. The Cigarette and Tobacco Tax was $1,170.87. That’s down 41 percent from last month and down 43 percent percent from last year. (That means the county is healthier.) The Use Tax was down 18 percent from last month and down 38 percent from last year. The Use Tax was $3,434.02.

Also in Officers’ reports, Commissioner Chair Marty Clinton said flu shots will be offered to Jackson County employees and their families on Thursday, Oct. 18 at the Courthouse.

District 2 had a blanket purchase order for the landfill for $26,000. It was approved.

A Detention Services Agreement by and between Sac and Fox Nation and the Board of County Commissioners of Jackson County for 2012-2013 was approved. The cost for juvenile detention there is $21.11 per child per day.

There was no new business. The claims were approved and the meeting adjourned at 10:08 a.m.
