A. G. Blackie Blackmon, 83, of Altus, passed away on Wednesday, Oct. 10, 2012, at the OU Medical Center in Oklahoma City. Private family services with military honors will be under the direction of the Kincannon Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Blackmon family plot in Wilsonville, Ala.

A. G. was born on July 7, 1929 in Sylacauga, Ala. to Acie Gordon and Cora Blackmon. He retired as a Master Sergeant from the United States Air Force after serving 21 years.

Survivors include his wife, Augusta (Shotts) Blackmon, of the home; his previous wife of 20 years, Mary Blackmon of Altus; two daughters, Linda Cartwright and husband Ron of Altus, and Debbie Banister and husband Sonny of Ozark, Mo.; two brothers, Jimmy Blackmon and wife Maxine of Wilsonville, Ala., and Robert Blackmon and wife Alice of Houston, Texas; two sisters, Jean Bahan and Deanna Jones; a daughter-in-law, Elizabeth Blackmon; his grandchildren, great- grandchildren and many special nieces and nephews; and his best friend, Bubba.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Larry Blackmon; and a brother, Rodney Blackmon.
