The Jackson County Commissioners met Friday, Aug. 31 for their end of the month meeting.

They approved the minutes from last meeting on Monday. Aug. 27 with a few changes.

The commissioners approved reports form the Sheriff’s Office, the Alcoholic Beverage Tax Report, from the Assessor’s Office.

During Officers’ reports, Commissioner Cary Carrell said that CED 7 is working on a draft of a uniform installation permit that counties can use when dealing with oil companies.

They approved blanket purchase orders from the Sheriff’s Office.

They approved advertising for bids on a 2005 or newer truck tractor for District 1.

Sheriff LeVick requested a temporary transfer of funds ($229,000) from the Sheriff’s General Reserve account to the Sales tax Revolving account to pay three months of payroll. This will be until the excess sales tax is returned from the bondholder. The commissioners approved the transfer.

Monthly appropriations were also approved.

Before the meeting adjourned, the commissioners and officers received a formal presentation from actuary study results, contracts and enrollment planning from OPEH&W Health Plan. For information about that company, see “www.opehw.com”.
