Harry Lynn Petzold was born to Ewalt and Selma (Kruse) Petzold in Butler, Texas, on October 21, 1926, and departed this life in Hobart on May 1, 2012.
Harry moved to the Altus area when he was 11 with his family and attended the City View and Ozark Schools before being drafted into the Army for WWII. After he spent his time in the Army he married Dorothy Heien on Oct. 24, 1948, in Lone Wolf, and they made their home in Lone Wolf. Harry was a farmer and an Honorary Life Member of the Lone Wolf FFA, the Kiowa Fair Board, the Southwest Sandyland Research Station and the St. John’s Lutheran Church of Granite.
He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Elmo, LeRoy and Gilford “Butch” Petzold; and a sister, Norma Jean Campbell.
Survivors include his wife of the home; two sons and their spouses, James Lynn “Jimmy” Petzold and Terri of Mangum, and Garry Lee Petzold and Mary of Lone Wolf; two daughters, Lynet Marie and husband Dave of Winsor, Mo., and Connie Lee and Peter Roberts of Lone Wolf; 12 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren and many other relatives and friends.
