It was a long night Friday for the Altus High School basketball teams.

They traveled to Anadarko and played two very talented basketball teams.

The Anadarko girls, ranked number 2 in Class 4A, were deadly in their 3-point shooting and defeated AHS 66-33 while the Warriors downed the Bulldogs 67-48 .

The Lady Bulldogs went into the game with an 11-3 season record. They had designs on upsetting the Lady Warriors but it was not to be.

Anadarko hit 13 three-point shots on the night. The Lady Warriors first five field goals were from behind the arc and they scored 17 of the first 18 points.

Mahogany Nelms scored nine points to lead Altus. Ebony Nelms had eight points.

In the boys game, Altus did lead for a brief moment. Mason Maahs scored the opening basket to give the Bulldogs a 2-0- lead.

But Anadarko, ranked fourth in 4A, scored the next 14 points and it looked like the Warriors would blow the Bulldogs out early.

But Altus rallied and tied the game late in the second period (22-22) when Maahs connected on a bucket.

Anadarko put together a scoring spree to take a 43-35 at the end of the third quarter.

The Warriors lengthened their lead in the fourth period for the 19 point victory.

The Bulldogs were led by Maahs with 13 points. Kasen Warren had 12 points. The Altus teams played Lawton MacArthur Saturday night. They will tavel to Elgin on Tuesday night.
