Museum of the Western Prairie volunteers (from left) Joe Davenport, Vic Wells, and Terry Wells, are busy preparing the museum grounds for the “Grand Reopening” to be held on Monday, Sept. 26, from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m.   The come-and-go celebration will feature the handsome new McMahan Gallery of interactive exhibits, the premiere of the Aldonian Club’s introduction to the museum puppet show, an exhibition of Native American Art from the rarely viewed Wilson Collection, music in the courtyard played by the Museum Musicians directed by Donna Tucker, and refreshments served by the Aldonian Club. The reopening celebration, co-sponsored by the Aldonian Club and the Western Trail Historical Society, will also honor those who were integrally involved in the founding of the museum as well as those who have been associated with the museum throughout its history.
