Altus center receives $60,000 research grant

Danny Robbins, left, Altus farmer and Oklahoma Cotton Council chairman, congratulates Dr. Randy Boman, Oklahoma State University cotton research program director, on receiving a three-year, $60,000 research grant from the council. According to Harvey Schroeder, OCC executive director, the grant will be divided into three parcels of $20,000 each year for three years. Research activities will be centered at the OSU Southwest Research and Extension Center south of Altus. Dr. Boman is also the center director.

Oklahoma's Cotton Council serves the state's cotton industry by working closely with cotton producers, ginners and warehousemen. It can be found on the internet at okiecotton.org. The Council also works closely with the NTOK Cotton project which consists of members of the cotton industry who support and encourage increased cotton production in the Rolling Plains of North Texas, Oklahoma and Kansas It can be found on the internet at ntokcotton.org.
