AHS earns state tournament berth

LAWTON - The Altus High School boys golf team earned a trip to the State Class 5A State Tournament by placing fifth in the regional tournament on Monday at the Lawton Country Club.

Duncan captured the team title with a 283-293-576. That was seven shots in front of defending state champion Ardmore and Deer Creek who both had a 583.

Carl Albert was fourth with a 605 and Altus had a 610. Lawton MacArthur earned the sixth and final state tournament bid with a 617.

Trevor Rose led the Altus contingent with a 75-72-147. Then came Braddock Abernathy 74-75-149, Keaton Smiley 78-79-155, Dallas Wiginton 80-79, and Jermiah Tobitt 81-83-184.
