. Col. Thomas Lyga, Director of Staff for the 97th Air Mobility Wing at Altus Air Force Base, is the program speaker for the Feb. 1 meeting of the Altus Lions Club. LTC Lyga was formerly the senior military training advisor to the Iraqi Army. All Lions Club members and guests are encouraged to attend. The meeting is open to the public. A Better Youth Foundation is selling raffle tickets for a Play Station 3, which will be raffled off on Valentines Day. Tickets cost $5 each. Drawing will be held at 5:30 on Feb. 14, at 709 E. Sutherland. Ticket holders do not have to be present to win, they will be contacted by phone. Tickets can also be purchased at Midwestern Loans, located at 1119 N. Main. Altus York Rite Bodies will have a special meeting for the purpose of degree conferral at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 30. Fellowship will be at 6 p.m. All York Rite Masons are urged to attend.

Altus Masonic Lodge Number 62 will hold a special meeting at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 31. Fellowship will be at 6 p.m. A Master Mason Degree will be conferred. All Master Masons are urged to attend.

The National Active and Retired Federal Employees Association will meet at the Elks Club at 6 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 1 at the Elks Club for a dutch treat supper. Entertainer will be Karoke Singer Earnie James.

Emmanuel Baptist Church, located at 800 N. Forrest, will be taking Angel Food orders from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 2 and from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 3. Southwest Oklahoma Republican Women's monthly meeting will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Feb. 8 at LaCosta in the Ramada Inn. The speaker will be Mary Mitchell, secretary of the Jackson County Election Board. Everyone is invited to attend.

The Out to Lunch Bunch of St. Paul's Episcopal Church will gather for a Valentine Lunch at 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 13 at The Pantry. Reservations are required. Snyder's United Methodist Men's 49th annual all-you-can-eat or all-you-want-to-eat Ground-Hog Supper will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 3. Adults are $6 and children 12 and under are $3. The event will be held at the Snyder High School cafeteria.
