County Shooters complete successful season

The Jackson County 4-H Shotgun Shooter Sports group had an active fall shooting program. The group was again supported this past year with a NRA grant and the support of Lawerence Wilks of J&J's Shooting Range. Practices have been held approximately every other Sunday at J&J's with the group competing in four competitions during the Fall Shooting Session. The following is a list of shoots and results for Fall 2005.

State Skeet Shoot at Lake Arcadia (Sixteen Counties with 88 total participants)

(Senior Division) - Blake Hasty, Logan Hukill, Jake Hukill, and Ryan Reddick, 3rd place overall

(Individually) -

Logan Hukill, State Champion for the 10-11 age division

Ryan Reddick, State Runner-Up, 16-19 age division

Jake Hukill, 7th place, 16-19 age division

Blake Hasty, 8th place, 16-19 age division

Fall District Trap Shoot in Duncan

(10-11 age group) - Bray Houston, 3rd place; Braden Block, 6th place; Jacob Poulin, 8th place

(16-19 age group) - Ryan Reddick, 3rd place

(Attending the Shoot) - Trey Mitchell, Kyle Flood, Jesse Meyer, Conner Block, T.J. Hunter, Chris Gallegos, Landon Bridges, Derek Brown, and Antonia Gallegos

Tillman/Jackson Trap Shoot

(10-11 age group) - Kade Forster, 1st place; Logan Hukill, 3rd place; Tyler Forster, 4th place

(12-13 age group) - Brookelyn Hasty, High Overall Female Shooter; T.J. Hunter, 3rd place, Landon Bridges, 6th place; Cord Armstrong, 7th place

(16-19 age group) - Blake Hasty, High Overall Male Shooter; Ryan Reddick, 2nd place; Jake Hukill, 3rd place

(Jackson Senior Squad) - 1st place team (Blake Hasty, Jake Hukill and Ryan Reddick)

(Jackson Junior Squad) - 2nd place team (Kade Forster, Tyler Forster, Brookelyn Hasty, and Cord Armstrong

(Jackson Junior Squad) - 3rd place team (Logan Hukill, T.J. Hunter, and Landon Bridges)

State Trap Shoot (27 Counties in attendance with ~ 270 shooters)

(10-11 age group) - Logan Hukill, 6th place; Bray Houston, tied for 7th place

(16-19 age group) - Jake Hukill and Ryan Reddick, tied for 5th place

(Senior Squad) - 8th place (Trey Mitchell, Ryan Reddick, Jake Hukill and Blake Hasty)

(Attending) - Cord Armstrong, Conner Block, Landon Bridges, Kade Forster, Tyler Forster, Brookelyn Hasty, T.J. Hunter, Kaden McCombs, Jesse Meyer, Jacob Poulin

Again, congratulations to all of our youth for a fun and successful season and a big thank you to the NRA association for their grant support of this Jackson County 4H program. Also, much appreciation is expressed to Wayne and Paula Reddick and Darrell Block as the Shotgun Shooting Sports Leaders. Their time and effort with the youth is genuinely appreciated!
