Most of the talk after Friday night's 59-0 victory over Capitol Hill, were playoff scenarios. One of the possibilities was a three-way tie between Altus, Chickasha and Duncan for the third and fourth playoff spots and a possible need to use the point tiebreaker system.
However, that won't be necessary. Because Duncan lost to both Altus and Chickasha they are eliminated from the playoffs.
Lawton MacArthur will represent District 5A-1 as the champion and Ardmore has wrapped up the second playoff spot. The only thing to be determined who will finish third and fourth in the district.
An Altus victory over Lawton MacArthur Friday night and a Chickasha loss to Oklahoma City Northwest would give the Bulldogs third place. Otherwise Altus will place fourth.
A fourth place finish sends Altus to Midwest City Carl Albert to play the third ranked Titans. If the Bulldogs are third, they will probably travel to Guthrie.
