Slow start costly to Blair Broncs

A poor first quarter was costly to the Blair Broncs last Friday.

The Granite Panthers outscored the Broncs 17-3 during the first eight minutes and went on to record a 60-48 victory.

Colorado Smith hit nine of 13 free throws and scored 20 points to lead Blair.

“Colorado played a good game,” said Blair coach Jeremy McIntosh. “David (McDaniel) did a good job for us on the boards.

Justin Nash scored 10 points for the Broncs.

The Blair basketball teams will host Olustee in a doubleheader tonight which gets under way at 6:30 p.m.

The Broncs will meet Tipton in the first round of the district tournament at 8 p.m. Friday at Sentinel.
