Myrtle B. (Pat) Gifford, 93, died Saturday, May 21, 2005.

Puat was born Oct. 9, 1911, to Charles and Anna McCleary in Nappanee, Ind. She graduated from Kokomo High School.

She married Arthur Gifford on Aug. 14, 1937. They resided in Kokomo, Ind., where Pat engaged in many church and civic activities such as First United Methodist Women, American Cancer Society, YMCA, United Fund, Boy Scouts and PEO.

In 1975, Art and Pat retired and moved to Sarasota, Fla., where they enjoyed playing golf, and Pat engaged in various activities such as PEO, Symphony Association and Glen Oaks Association.

In 2003 Pat moved to an Altus assisted living center. She attended First Baptist Church and was pleased to be accepted in the Altus PEO chapter.

Pat is survived by one son, Dr. Steve Gifford and his wife Anita, of Altus; and two grandsons, Chris and Jeremy Gifford.

Pat was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Arthur Gifford; her parents; and two brothers.

A memorial service for Pat Gifford will be held at 9:45 a.m. Tuesday, May 24, at Tamarack Retirement Center. Memorials can be made to the JCMH Hospice.
