Issues to be considered for the AMA include: approving the resolution for amending the 2011-2012 Annual Budget by $85,000 for the Hotel/Motel Loan, AMA Series 2011, approval of wrapping City Vehicle #900 from the Meter Department with advertising, authorize the Chairman to sign various agreements with Fox & Drechsler and SBC Consulting Engineers for engineering services.
With a packed agenda for the City Council meeting, members will consider the companion piece to the AMA $85,000 for the Hotel/Motel Loan and the engineering items also discussed in the AMA. Memos of Understanding (MOUs) will be discussed regarding animal control services and an ordinance may be approved to allow "home quarantine" of certain animals with current rabies vaccinations.
Parts I and II of proposals regarding the possible purchase of the "Ford Building" to serve as the Senior Citizens Center will be considered.
The council will also discuss and possibly vote on whether or not to eliminate the four-day, ten-hour work week.
In executive session, the council will receive updates on negotiations with both the firefighters' and police officers' unions. Additionally they will discuss the employment of City Administrator Mike Nettles. Any votes may be taken after executive session.
The Mayor, City Administrator, and City Council members may make comments and reports.
