Oklahoma State University's Posse and Cowboy Caravan is coming to Altus this Friday. Head football coach Les Miles will be the feature of this event. Athletic Director Harry Birdwell,, and the "Voice of the Cowboys" Dave Hunziker will also be part of the program.

The event will take place at the Expo Center, Jackson County Fairgrounds, 300 S. Todd Lane, Altus. The Jackson County Cowboys Chefs will prepare a ribeye steak dinner with all the trimmings. The doors will open at 5:30 with the party scheduled to arrive at 6:30.

An auction of sports memorabilia and other OSU items will begin the program. The funds raised will benefit the Jackson County OSU Scholarship Fund. Last year, the group awarded two scholarships of $1,000 each which were matched by the university. OSU will provide matching funds this year also.

Coach Miles will discuss the successful 2003 football season, the progress of spring football drills, the development of star newcomers, recruiting and the outlook for the fall season.

Dave Hunziker will speak on his experience at the Cotton Bowl and the NCAA basketball tournament, especially OSU's Final Four berth.

Birdwell will give highlights of the Cowboy wrestling team which recently won the NCAA national championship. He will also discuss the progress of the stadium renovations.

The admission is $10, with no charge for children under 12. For more information, call Glen Winters at 482-5211.
