Altus held their Christmas parade this past Sunday, and other area towns are gearing up for their own parades and other festivities this week. (See Altus parade prize presentation photos in the Sunday, Dec. 12 edition).

The Mangum Chamber of Commerce will host a “Parade of Lights” event this Saturday starting at 6 p.m. Santa is planning to attend, and photo opportunities will be held from 3 to 5 p.m.

Also on Saturday, the Tillman County Historical Society will be hosting “Christmas at the Townsite” from 6 to 7 p.m. at the Pioneer Townsite Museum. The “Traditions of Christmas” program is free and open to the public. Refreshments will be served, and Santa will be on hand for photo opportunities. At 7:30 p.m., a Christmas program will be held in the Ramona Theater sponsored by Frederick Arts and Humanities

The Duke Chamber of Commerce will host a Christmas parade on Sunday, Dec. 12 at 2 p.m. Kids can visit with Santa, and a benefit lunch will be held in the Duke Community Center after the parade. The lunch will benefit the Duke Beautification Committee projects.

The Frederick Christmas parade will be held Thursday, Dec. 16 beginning at 5:15 p.m.

The Blair Festival of Lights will be held Saturday, Dec. 18. Blair is inviting everyone for the town tour and to hook lights up to “anything that is street legal.” Meet up at the Blair Fire House with your entry at 6 p.m., Dec. 18 and follow the entourage behind Santa on a Blair fire truck. After the tour, Santa will be available to visit with the children and to take photos.
