USCIS Community Relations Officer Jesus Ramirez will be in Altus for a public awareness meeting at the Altus Public Library on Monday, Aug. 24, at noon to discuss citizenship information.

When can an immigrant become a US citizen? What requirements are necessary to become a naturalized American? Does this process require fees? These are some of the questions about US citizenship to be discussed by US Citizenship and Immigration Community Relations Officer Jesus Ramirez from the Regional Office in Dallas. He will conduct “Naturalization Information” at the Altus Public Library (west meeting room) at 12 noon on Monday, Aug. 24. Participants can bring their lunch meal to eat since this meeting is held during the lunch hour. His presentation will be in English and Spanish, if needed.

The Great Plains Literacy Council and the Southern Prairie Library System will host this citizenship program on Monday. The informative meeting will focus on questions often asked by resident aliens and their families. There is no cost to attend.
