Ohhh… so close. Here is the headache of the option game. Jayden Benway’s (14) vision and experienced alerted him on the defender commtting to stop Taven Birdow (33) here. In this frame we see the ball just under Birdow’s arm and Benway looks to be in the clear as he pulls this ball and heads for the edge.

This is Gabe “The Weapon” Barton as he ho-humbly connects time and time again from 60+ yards. Look for a feature in the 2015 football Season Preview available to customers in the Aug. 27 edition of the Altus Times.

This is head coach of the Bulldogs, Jeremy Reed, as he keeps an eye on his quarterback, Jayden Benway during yesterday’s practice. Hopefully, he is pleased with the completions Benway piled up during this time. Jayden is really making some great throws.

The Altus High School Bulldogs are hosting the Weatherford Eagles tomorrow night, Aug. 20 in a scrimmage. The scrimmage will take place inside “The Rock” at 6 p.m. For those of you with the “can’t wait for next year” mentality, you have your wish. Next year is now.

If you have blue blood, and want a sneak peek at the Altus Bulldogs team on a mission, catch a glimpse of tomorrow night’s scrimmage. As good as Jayden Benway is throwing his passes, it wouldn’t bother me any if Coach Reed abandoned the flexbone and just called passes all night. Wait, that’s not true. I am sure we will see both.

Seriously, Benway is throwing some great passes. That ball is getting out there quick.

Coach Reed, I don’t really want to you to abandon the flexbone.

GO BULLDOGS !!
