There were 45 Lincoln Head Start children who enjoyed getting to visit with Santa and Mrs. Clause this morning at their Holiday Celebration.

Children and staff held their Holiday Celebration this morning at the Lincoln Head Start Center.

There are 45 children enrolled in the Early Head start through Pre-Kindergarten program. They enjoyed talking to Santa and Mrs. Clause. The kids were also excited to see Mickey and Minnie Mouse at their party.

Lincoln staff, parents, volunteers, policemen, firemen, First National Bank and United Supermarket volunteers helped with the celebration. Each child was able to have their photo taken with Santa. They also received a stocking filled with fruit, candy, a hat and mittens. The kids also got to take home a toy to open on Christmas.

The children have stayed busy this season, creating ornaments, singing Christmas songs, making volunteer Thank You and Christmas cards for parents. Another highlight of the party was eating the homemade gingerbread and sugar cookies baked by the students.

The Altus Lincoln Head Start opened in 1965, Elva Campos has been a Head Start teacher for 34 years. “My most favorite part of being a teacher during the Holidays is seeing the happy faces on the children.”
