Bulldogs get warm welcome home


Crowds of fans lined the streets to see the Altus Bulldogs roll into town after Saturday’s State Championship win. The players got out of the bus and walked the trophy to the high school.


The bus carrying the Altus Bulldog football team stopped shortly after rolling into Altus Saturday evening. They players got out and walked the State Championship trophy to the high school.


Shelby Broaddus and Kenlee Netherton were just two of those holding signs to welcome the Bulldogs home Saturday night.


The Altus Bulldogs received a warm welcome home Saturday night with fans lining the streets, a police escort and even fireworks.

As the Altus Bulldogs rolled into town Saturday night around 10:30 p.m., fans lined the streets all down E. Broadway, honking and waving and shouting their names. The bus stopped just west of Veterans Drive, they players got off, and walked the State Championship Trophy over a mile to the high school.

Orders will be taken Tuesday from noon until 4 p.m. at “On the Square Consignments” for State Championship T-shirts and caps. All money raised from the orders will be used to fund the purchase of rings for the players. There will also be bank accounts set up in town for donations.
