Festival of Trees attendees are in for a special treat this year. The BluHarmonix is a high-energy, dynamic A cappella group featuring the choral musical talents of Altus High School’s seniors, juniors and sophomores and is directed by Neil Young. They will perform selections of Christmas musical favorites at The Shortgrass Arts and Humanities Council’s 29th Annual Festival of Trees on Thursday, Dec. 10 at 6:30 p.m., at the Days Inn Altus, located at 2804 N. Main Street.

This festive evening offers musical entertainment and great food, along with the silent and live auctions. The auctions will include unique holiday items, original art work, food and entertainment packages, and gift baskets. Scott Tripp of Tripp and Sons Auction in Blair will be the guest auctioneer for the evening. Tickets are $25 per person and are available at the Altus Chamber of Commerce and through the Shortgrass office and Board members.

The Shortgrass Arts and Humanities Council’s (SAHC) mission is to provide quality arts and humanities programming in southwest Oklahoma. To accomplish this mission the Council presents visual and performing arts programs and activities annually. All proceeds from this event will go to the Council to sponsor the 2016 Chautauqua as well as other annual projects and programs. For more information and tickets, call the SAHC office at 580-477-1616 and leave a message, or the Altus Chamber of Commerce at 482-0210.
