The Prince of Peace Catholic Church will hold their annual Turkey Dinner this Sunday, Nov. 8. The event will be held from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the church, 1500 Falcon Road in Altus.

According to Edwina Willeford and Mary Willeford who chair the Turkey Dinner committee, “The dinner began over 50 years ago as a church dinner and has positively grown over the years.” Today people from all over Altus and the surrounding communities attend the event to enjoy fellowship along with a delicious holiday meal .

Volunteer committees are set for the drinks, pies, and decorations. The Prince of Peace Youth Group participate by serving the food to the attendees. A silent auction has been added to the annual dinner where parishioners and guests have the opportunity to help raise funds by silently bidding on, and winning various themed gift baskets. Some baskets to look for this year include an OU, OSU, Fall, Christmas, Chocolate Lover’s, and baskets for the kids.

Money raised has helped with upgrades for the church, and the Prince of Peace Student Scholarship Fund. The menu this year is roast turkey, dressing, cranberry sauce, sweet and mashed potatoes, green beans, assorted pies, tea and coffee.

For tickets, call 482-3363 or come by church office. Cost for adults is $8 and children 12 and under are $4, and take out is available.
