Roberts pledges support to WOSC Foundation President’s Partner program

Joanne Roberts recently became the most recent participant in the Western Oklahoma State College Foundation, Inc. President’s Partner Program. Joanne, better known as Lil Red, has been a professional clown for the past 26 years, the last 15 of which have been in the Altus community. She was trained by Ringling Brothers in Lacrosse, Wisc.

Since moving to Altus, Joanne has been active in the First United Methodist Church Children’s Ministry, the Lincoln Head Start Program, The Altus Air Force Base Library story time as well as many of the surrounding area school’s reading programs.

Supporting the President’s Partners Program was a way to help students and Ms. Roberts said, “God means for us to be good to each other.”

The President’s Partner participants provide support with an annual contribution of $1,000 to the WOSC Foundation, Inc. in support of college programs. Seventy-five percent of the contributions are deposited into the President’s Partner Operating Fund with the remaining twenty-five percent deposited into the President’s Partner Scholarship Endowment. Funds are used to enhance the student learning experience at Western by providing necessary funding to campus programming, scholarships, student and faculty recruitment, promotions, facility improvements, initial funding for endowments and endowment development.
