The Shortgrass Arts and Humanities Council’s annual “Gala in the Garden” will be held on Thursday, Sept. 17, from 7 to 9 p.m. in the lovely gardens at the home of Eddie and Joan Wilcoxen, 712 East Walker, Altus. The event is free and everyone is invited to enjoy refreshments, entertainment and the company of friends who support the arts.

“Join us for a tour of the gardens, waterfalls and koi ponds, listen to the strains of soft music while enjoying refreshments,” said Shortgrass Arts and Humanities Council member Joan Wilcoxen. Membership applications will be available at the event, too. “All the fun starts at 7 p.m., and we hope you will come,” added Wilcoxen. “So much fun, and such great people and programs, and you are welcome and invited to join us.”
