The Duke Lady Tigers surged to victory in the first round of the Frazer Bank Invitational over the Indiahoma Lady Warriors on Thursday, dominating every aspect the game in the Lady Tigers 71-15 win.
There were plenty of Lady Tiger players pitching in to lead Duke to victory, but Kaylee Keck had the best game of them all, leading the way with 20 points followed by Corky Hall who finished with 18.
It didn’t take long for the game to get out of hand as the Lady Tigers put up 24 points in the first quarter and held the Lady Warriors to just three. By the end of the first half, Duke had nearly doubled its score while the Lady Warriors continued to struggle with their shots, finding the bottom of the basket just three times as Brooklyn Pierson knocked down a pair of 2-point field goals and Ellie Hannabass made one of two free throw attempts.
Nothing got any easier for Indiahoma as the Lady Tigers continued to pour in the points on their way to victory.
Aside from Keck and Hall, Calebi Cusher also had a solid game, scoring all 13 of her points in the first half. Jaden Ruiz added five as did Kylee Rice and Amber Bustos finished with four.
The Lady Tigers moved on to second round of the tournament where they faced off against the Granite Lady Panthers for a chance to move on to the championship game.
