Blair hangs on to defeat Grandfield, 58-54

The Blair Broncs defeated the Grandfield Bearcats, 58-54, on Thursday to advance to the second round of the Frazer Bank Invitational.

Kaden Hans led the way for Blair with 15 points. The Broncs and the Bearcats battled back and forth for most of the game with Blair struggling to find much separation, but Blair was able to sink two free throws at the end of the game to walk away with the victory.

Hans’ 15 points and seven rebounds paved the way for the Broncs. Carter Torrez added 11 points in the game for Blair and Payson Ramirez finished the game with nine points. For Grandfield, Martin Torres finished with 18 points and Wyatt Crossland added 17, but the Bearcats couldn’t rally past the Broncs for the win.

Blair also had help from Dalton Ellis and Nicholas Arnold who each scored seven points, Kaleb Castillo who added four points and Kaden Johnson and Baylor Downing who each chipped in two.

Blair will take on Duke at 5:40 p.m. tomorrow while Sweetwater and Grandfield will square off at 12:20 p.m.
