Two Altus Bulldogs swimmers, Cassidy Pearl and Mathew Aguilar participated in the All-State swim competition. Pearl swam the 100 backstroke and three relays. Aguilar swam the 100 backstroke and all three relays.

They represented the West side of the state. Both received two swim caps, a T-shirt, and an All-State ring. The West teams easily defeated the East teams this year- 52-42 guys and 72-21 girls. The All-State games honor the athletes’ high school careers.

“Cassidy and Mathew will both be missed at AHS,” said Coach Wig. “They were both strong leaders and fast swimmers for the Bulldogs.”

Both swimmers will be attending and swimming at Oklahoma Baptist University this fall.

Coach Michael Shive also joined Wig in attending this year’s meet held in conjunction with the Oklahoma Coaches Association clinic in Tulsa. GO BULLDOGS!!
