The 2016 Altus High School women’s golf team has made great strides in making another state bid. They completed the regional tournament in fourth spot with a 388 score ahead of favorites Carl Albert and Bishop McGuinness. The top six teams in the region advance to state. Other area schools that advanced were No. 1 Duncan, No. 2 Ardmore and No. 3 Lawton Mac.

This year will make the third year for Witter and McLeod to play at the state event. Roblez and Sirmons will make it back-to-back years and Coffman will make her state debut. The players hope to play their best golf next week and strive to improve on the ninth place finish a year ago.
